Data Centre Support Engineers

Experienced 24/7 Data Centre Support Engineers located Middlesex / North London

We are currently recruiting engineers to provide frontline support and be involved in the day-to-day operations of a busy Data Centre. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in a fast moving environment. You will need to field support issues coming into the data centre team and perform initial fault diagnosis where appropriate.  As a Cisco orientated network engineer you will be involved with the day-to-day network operations and support of the telecommunications infrastructure. CCNA Certification is preferred but not essential, but however you should have a minimum of 2 years experience of working in a large Data Centre environment and / or extensive knowledge of Telecommunications infrastructure, structured cabling systems including the patching connectivity of copper and fibre systems.

As the Data Centre support is available 24x7x365 the successful candidate would be expected to work on a Rota system that would include day / night shift work.

Working within a highly experienced 24/7 shift based team of engineers; you will be responsible for the speedy resolution for all client infrastructure issues. Your first class technical, troubleshooting and analytical skills coupled with a talent for client communication and rapport building will give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge across a broad range of technical environments whilst enjoying the culture of a highly motivated and vibrant team environment. You will have extensive relevant experience working on customer’s problems and have a natural flair for developing productive working relationships with colleagues and customers. You will possess a high degree of verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to take ownership of issues. To excel in this environment it is likely that you will have demonstrable experience of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Cisco, Networking and an overall knowledge of structured cabling systems including fibre optic connectivity.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Channel provision and connectivity of Copper and Fibre systems
• Following Data Centre live environment issues to completion
• responding to Data Centre monitoring systems and issues raised by clients or internal departments
• carry out fault diagnosis using monitoring tools
• Internal central point-of-contact for Data Centre issues, liaising with network control centers
• Logging into Data Centre issues in Remedy.
• Raising issues with 3rd parties

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Experience of working within a customer facing environment
• Telecommunications Infrastructure / Structured Cabling connectivity experience
• Formal technical training within telecoms or relevant experience gained in a Data Centre
• Experience within a remedy or similar ticketing system
• CCNA qualified preferred or experience up to CCNA level

Moves (MAC) Coordinators

We have a requirement for moves coordinators to work in a very dynamic environment in the City as part of a team. The candidate must have a minimum of of 3 tears expierence including: Surveying user requirements, physical moves, patching / jumpering, testing, documentation and report writing. Excellent written verbal communicatoin and interpersonal skills are essential.

Excel, Word, Visio Powerpoint, Outlook essential, Remedy, iTRACS and TCPIP experience preferred.

The candidate will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

Experienced Meridian PBX engineer required. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years expierence and have Meridian switch programming knowledge and MAC expierence is essential. The position is City based (Bank enviroment) and is a permanent position. Salary negotiable + benifits.
