Martin Haworth joins Excel I.T.

As part of Excel I.T.’s continued growth and expansion we are delighted to welcome Martin Haworth onboard.

With more than 25 years experience within the IT industry, Martin brings a wealth of expertise and knowhow as a result of having worked within numerous different areas within the IT landscape over this period.

On leaving school, Martin began working for Merrill Lynch as a messenger. After about six months he was given the opportunity to work in the Computer Room, where things were much different to what a Computer Room environment is today!

He progressed through the ranks at Merrill Lynch taking on various roles across all aspects of IT. After 21 years he decided to see if the grass was greener on the other side and joined Fidelity Investments. From there on Martin has gained extensive experience working for the New York Stock Exchange and The Royal Bank of Scotland before completing the circle by returning to Merrill Lynch and then the New York Stock Exchange.

Largely his duties over the years have comprised of Computer Operations, Network Support, Network Installations, and Infrastructure Management, which included cabling design, Moves, Adds and Changes and Infrastructure Installations, and new building fit outs within Europe and the Middle East.

Martin lives in Epsom, Surrey with his wife Sally and three children. A lot of his spare time is taken up watching his sons play football, and generally being used as their taxi!
